Painting a patio in Azay-le-Rideau

I used the sketch/drawing from last week as a baseline for my new painting. I wanted to test a new method for stretching the watercolour paper using metal clips to hold its fibres extended, as shown in the picture below taken after the first wash.

The result was not that great. The paper buckled after subsequent washes, leaving me no chance to properly distribute the pigment.
