Vacation in Aruba
We keep going back to this beautiful island for a short vacation to break the harsh winter at home. After years of travelling, we concluded that ‘all-inclusive’ resorts are no longer for us. Prices for flights, accommodation, and food can be kept at half those we would pay at five-star resorts in the Mayan Riviera. Also in Aruba, I find motivation to stay active and avoid indulging in food and drinks. That is a major bonus for staying healthy.

The weather in Aruba is constantly warm. In high season (December to March), the temperature can reach 29 degrees Celsius during the day and fall to 24 degrees Celsius at night. You may experience a little rain that lasts 10 minutes per day, as we did this time in January. This is in contrast to the Mayan Riviera, where it may rain for days in a row, and the temperatures may drop below 20 degrees Celsius overnight.
Driving and walking on the Island is safe. All the locations you want to visit are within 10km of where you’re staying. I took advantage of this by waking up a lot, but since we had rented a vehicle, we had easy access to shopping for food and to the restaurants we like. All in all, Aruba is still the best destination for Winter vacationing for us still.
I was in the mood to practice painting on site while on the beach under a palapa. Here are some results:
